PARENT WATER SAFETY PLEDGE
Because water safety starts with us.

As a parent, I understand that fun in the water comes with responsibility. At Island Aquatics NJ, LLC, we believe that active supervision and smart choices save lives. This summer – and always – I pledge to protect my child(ren) around the water.

  • I will always assign a Water Watcher

     a responsible adult who is actively watching children in and around the water without other distractions such as reading or using a cellphone.

  • I will not rely on flotation devices

    such as water wings, puddle jumpers, or inflatable toys as a substitute for supervision or non-swimming skills. I will encourage only intentional swimming.

  • I will support swim lessons

    to help my child become safe swimmers, especially in open water.

  • I will equip myself with basic water

    and pool safety practices, CPR, and emergency response.

  • I will create a safe, engaging home environment

    – fun for our children, families, and our community.

  • I will not have my child

    wear a flotation device immediately following swim lessons, as it goes against all taught water survival skills.

  • I pledge to be present, proactive and prepared.
